Job summary

Are you a Systemic Family Therapist who is passionate about working with families and young people affected by Eating Disorders? We are a dynamic and proactive service that delivers a range of evidence-based interventions to support children and young people across Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

We work hard to improve awareness in our communities and reduce barriers to accessing services. We strive to intervene early and work preventatively, maximising opportunity for recovery. We provide a range of interventions appropriate to each young person's needs and work principally in the community, but also in-reach into Paediatric and Psychiatric in-patient settings. We are looking to develop our service and explore opportunities, specifically around improving our group work provision, reducing inpatient admissions and providing specialised pathways for ARFID.

Having just been awarded RDASH Clinical Team of the Year, there is no better time to join us! ...if you'd like to come and meet us in person before applying, we are holding an 'open day' at The Stonecastle Centre in Conisbrough (10am - 4pm on 7th February) where you will be able to meet some of the team, hear about our work, ask questions and get a feel for what the job might be like. Please email sue.wilkinson15@nhs.net if you are interested in attending or to let us know if a virtual meeting or phone conversation would work better for you.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and will provide consultation to families, schools and other professionals and agencies.

There will be a requirement to undertake Eating Disorder assessments and to consider differential diagnoses. You will have relevant experience of working in Child and Adolecent Mental Health Services, experience of working in specialist eating disorder services is ideal but not essential.

Formulation is key in the service that we provide, and it is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to formulate systemically. The primary role is the provision of systemic family therapy and supporting the team to provide family focused therapy for Anorexia and Bulimia (FT-AN and FT-BN).

Enhancing systemic thinking across the team through the provision of training and supervision is also a key part of this role, along with service development through audit, evaluation, and research.

We are strongly committed to personal and professional development; the role is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and transferable skills in a supportive team environment.

About us
