Job summary
To support the development and continued use of the Electronic Prescribing and medicines administration system (ePMA) - Trustwide.
To be actively involved in the training of Trust staff in the use of ePMA system and support the development of policies, procedures and training packages.
To participate in the provision and development of pharmaceutical services within the trust through the audit and data analyst functions.
Main duties of the job
- To take an active role in the pharmacy team and provide support to less experienced staff with respect to ePMA and data management.
- To assist the Medicines Management Technicians using ePMA/EPS functionality to facilitate our patient services.
- To ensure that patient safety and service delivery are maintained in the event of failure of the electronic prescribing system and facilitate system recovery. This will involve supporting the establishment of robust business continuity plans for potential ePMA/EPS downtime.
- To analyse, monitor and review the team's training approach ensuring that any lessons learned are incorporated into future training plans.
- To contribute to the design and implementation of system audits, service development initiatives and statistical and financial drug transactions. To participate in pharmacy service audits, both local and national, and to provide accurate information.
- To work with Medicines Support Officer and senior technicians in analysing and presentation of medicines related incidents reported through the Trust.
- To identify changes which are required to SOPs, policies and procedures in response to the implementation of ePMA/EPS in order to ensure the provision of high-quality services
