Job summary
An exciting opportunity to cover maternity leave for one year in the Contracting Performance and CQUIN team. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced part time Contracts Manager to join our team.
The post holder will be responsible for contract negotiation, management and oversight and manage the process to deliver against the requirements of a portfolio of contracts with NHS England, Integrated Care System Partners, Local Authorities, and other commissioners or providers or instance for our Research team. A key requirement of the role is in the establishment of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as our Care Groups, Directorates and Services to support in the provision of a proactive and professional support for Contracting across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of a robust contract management framework which is aligned to and underpins the Trust Strategic Direction.
- To be responsible for the proactive management of an allocated portfolio of Trust contracts to ensure organisational contract compliance. This will include the provision of advice on the possible contractual approaches that may be taken by our commissioners or by us as commissioners e.g. - contract terms, incentives and penalties to ensure they are utilised effectively.
- To be responsible for the regular review and re-negotiation of contracts with commissioners, as required, this will include working with Care Group leads to ensure thorough preparation and attendance at meetings to ensure a contract presence.
- To develop relationships within Care Groups and corporate departments at appropriate levels to ensure that any relevant service delivery or contract compliance issues are escalated quickly.
- To review and provide specialist contractual support to the Care Groups and our Research team which will include updating documentation as necessary.
- To coordinate responses and produce documentation in the event of any relevant consultations or contractual disputes.
- To be responsible for updating documentation as necessary, in particular regard to ensuring that service specifications contained within contracts are clear, deliverable, reflect capacity and demand within services and are up to date.
