Job summary
This is an exciting time to join RdaSH and you will be able to influence and shape our continuous improvement. We are looking for dynamic and flexible candidates with a good understanding of the role of the consultant and the ability to work in an appropriately boundaried way whilst displaying clear clinical leadership and support to the MDT. The postholder will be a leading member of the community multidisciplinary team. You will be primarily responsible for delivering a quality clinical service and also to be actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services, working with the Service manager and the rest of the team to enhance and steer the development of the service.
Main duties of the job
The Crisis team provides a crisis line and urgent mental health assessment across the borough of Doncaster. A pending development within the team is the provision of a psychiatric decision unit providing an alternative assessment provision to Emergency Department for urgent mental health assessments and supports an extended assessment provision. This will be delivered in partnership with VSCE support.
The Home Treatment team is a multi-disciplinary team delivering home based intervention as an alternative to hospital admission. The service carries a caseload between 30-35 clients at anyone time. The service supports the early discharge pathway from our acute inpatient service as well as completing the gatekeeping functionality for all informal admissions.
Additionally, the team provide important liaison with other doctors and MDT's in community teams, inpatient mental health services and primary care.

- Full registration with the GMC Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT.
- Previous experience within General Adult psychiatry. Experience of psychiatric practice in a range of care settings. Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
- Approved or eligible for approval under Section 12(2) of MHA 1983 Approved or eligible for Approved Clinician Status. Satisfactory Occupational Health clearance for the role. Eligibility to work/reside in the UK. Satisfactory DBS clearance. Ability to commute effectively within the Trusts geographical area. Ability to fulfil all duties of the post including on-call.
