Job summary
This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced clinical support worker to join our CAMHS Getting Help Pathway. The role will involve working alongside colleagues in the Getting Help team, the wider CAMHS team and also our colleagues in partner agencies to contribute to the assessment and treatment for children and young people who access the service.
You'll be supporting children and young people open to the service, their families and/or carers and other professionals to ensure that care plans and interventions are delivered, and that any barriers identified are discussed within the MDT, under the supervision of mental health professionals. A big part of your role will also be developing ongoing relationships with children and families to promote resilience and encourage relapse prevention planning.
Main duties of the job
To support and enhance the professional care and engagement of patients within the service by delivering a range of delegated clinical health duties and therapeutic support for young people & their families under the supervision and guidance of a qualified practitioner within CAMHS.
It's essential that you have an NVQ Level 2 in Care along with experience of working within a health and social care setting. You'll also have experience of working with, and offering advice and support to, CYP and/or families. Plus, you'll have an awareness and understanding of mental health and emotional issues, including self-harm and suicide.
This is an extremely rewarding but challenging role, you will be working as part of a team, but you will need a high level of emotional resilience to support young people and families at times of distress. You will be required to work alone at times and need to prioritise work to be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
Due to the geographical area covered it is also essential that you have the ability to travel in order to attend appointments.
