Job summary

The purpose of the Research Communications and Engagement Officer is to support the effective delivery of a communications and engagement function for Research and Innovation (R&I) as part of the Grounded Research Team at the Trust. The post holder will work as part of the Trust's Grounded Research Team and work closely with the Trust's Communications team and wider regional communication and engagement teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all external press, social media and PR activity featuring Grounded Research accurately reflects the high standards of the Trust, exploiting all opportunities to promote the services it offers.

Providing support to researchers and the Grounded Research team on Public Involvement and Community Engagement (PICE) activities, including grant submissions, lay summaries, press releases, events, focus groups, PICE meetings and campaigns.

  • Experience in managing press and media relations and in building strong relationships with them.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience of writing press releases, web and social media content.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams with advanced keyboard skills.
  • Experience working in a Research & Innovation environment.
  • Working knowledge of content and video creation software, such as Canva.
  • Experience of supporting Public Involvement and Community Engagement (PICE) activities
