Job summary
The Long-Term Conditions pathway, part of the Children's Care Group within RDaSH, are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Children's Community Continence Service. The service has a clear focus to support children and young people in the community to achieve their continence potential.
You will be part of an integrated team working alongside Children's Specialisms (Children's Community Nursing, Epilepsy, Special School Nursing, and TB). The service provides nursing intervention, support and advice relative to continence needs for to children, young people and families across the Doncaster Borough.
Our ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with continence experience who has a passion for supporting and improving the lives of children, young people, and families with additional needs.
Main duties of the job
The Post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of their own time and caseload and will support and work under the guidance of the Specialist Continence Nurse. Part of this role would be to undertake, plan, provide and carry out holistic continence assessments of children and young people with continence needs such as Nocturnal Enuresis, Day Time Wetting and Constipation and Soiling. The post holder will provide care to patients in numerous community settings such as schools, in their home and in nurse led continence clinics.
you will undertake, plan, provide and carry out Holistic Continence Assessments of children and young people with continence needs seeking support as required from senior staff.
Ensure that all Children from all age groups and abilities receive optimum family-centred, evidence-based care.
Ensure parents/carers and children/young people (when appropriate) have the opportunity to agree and negotiate care.
Communicate plans of care, changes in condition and treatment to parents/carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
The current hours of operation are Mon- Fri between the hours of 9am - 5pm.
