Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join the Rheumatology Team as a Specialist Nurse in Osteoporosis and DMARD monitoring, working across sites alongside Rheumatology Consultants and Specialist Nurses.
The role will encompass the management of osteoporosis services and the monitoring of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), supporting the delivery of high-quality care in line with national and local guidelines. You will work collaboratively across sites with Rheumatologists and Rheumatology Specialist Nurses, coordinating osteoporosis treatments and providing specialist advice, education, and support.
You will monitor patients initiated on DMARDs by the medical team, acting as a key liaison between outpatient clinics, day unit therapies, inpatient services, and primary care to ensure continuity of care.
The post holder will work across Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital, including Uckfield Hospital, as the service develops.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Degree-level education and evidence of continued professional development are desirable, and experience in rheumatology would be advantageous.

The role will encompass osteoporosis and the monitoring of Disease modifying drugs. This will enable us to provide high quality care following national and local guidelines. You will be working cross site with Rheumatologists and Rheumatology Specialist Nurses, to undertake the arrangement of various osteoporosis treatments acting as a source of expertise and knowledge through the provision of education and support.
