About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Arrhythmia Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our arrhythmia service, working collaboratively with Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.You will act as a clinical expert in arrhythmia management, supporting patients with a range of conditions including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and those with implantable cardiac devices. The role combines advanced clinical practice with service development, education, and leadership.

Key responsibilities

Lead nurse-led arrhythmia clinics, including pre- and post-procedure assessments and follow-up care.

Lead the elective cardioversion service

Provide specialist advice on arrhythmia diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle management.

Support patients through complex treatment pathways such as ablation therapy, device implantation, and anticoagulation management.

Contribute to service development, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement projects.

Establish a new virtual ward pathway

Deliver education and training to nursing staff, allied health professionals, and patients.

Act as a resource for the MDT, offering expert input into case discussions and care planning.

Main duties of the job

About you

Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.

Significant post-registration experience in cardiology, with proven expertise in arrhythmia care.

Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across professional boundaries.

A commitment to evidence-based practice, audit, and continuous service improvement.

Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (or willingness to complete).
