Job summary
Chemistry is looking to recruit a HCPC State Registered Biomedical Scientists, to join our progressive, busy and friendly department at the Eastbourne District General Hospital. Training will be provided to help complete the Specialist Portfolio.
The department is based on two sites at Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital and although initially based at Eastbourne DGH, you will be required to work across sites as service needs dictate.
Flexible working is a requirement for this post. The department operates a 24/7 shift system on each site in which the successful candidate will be expected to participate following initial training. Payment for this will be at Agenda for Change rates (Blood Sciences 24/7 working currently attracts short term local recruitment and retention premia of £5K pa)
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a state registered Biomedical Scientist/trainee Biomedical Scientist to become part of our team in the busy, professional and friendly Clinical Chemistry Laboratory. Applicants must be HCPC registered and must be willing to complete the IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry. The department has recently moved into a new laboratory area and undergone an analyser refresh with Roche C8000, pre-analytic(8100), CiTM, Sebia Capilliary Analysers, Spectrophotometer and an osmometer under a managed service partnership with Roche.
