Job summary
We have a vacancy for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will support the Active Directory (AD) Migration project, providing comprehensive technical expertise and support.
The post holder will regularly attend project meetings to provide specialist advice and will monitor and report on infrastructure environment activity and maintain standards of working in accordance with agreed design and project protocols.
The post is being offered on a fixed term/secondment basis until 31st March 2026 and will be based at either Conquest Hospital or Eastbourne DGH with the occasional requirement to travel to other sites and opportunities for flexible/home working.
Main duties of the job
Our ideal candidate will have experience of the following:
- Management of user accounts, security groups and organisational units, including creation, modification and deletion, ensuring adherence to security policies and permissions structures
- Configuration and management of Group Policy Objects to enforce security settings and software deployment across the network
- Monitoring Active Directory performance, system health and security logs to identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Understanding of Active Directory forests and trusts
- Co-ordinating with network and system administrators to integrate Active Directory with other systems ensuring seamless user experience and system interoperability
- Developing and maintaining documentation related to Active Directory architecture, settings and procedures including detailed change logs and system configurations for audit compliance and knowledge transfer
They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds and be able to translate and present complex technical information so it can be understood by both technical and non-technical colleagues. They will also be able to work as part of a team and plan their own time, working to tight and changing deadlines and be able to work on their own initiative to interpret issues and take action to resolve and negate risk.
