Job summary
CCU is a busy 11 bedded Unit nursing Elective and Emergency admissions. In addition, the role will include rotation into the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories. The team is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.
We are looking for experienced Clinical Support Workers, hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths, Care Certificate and or NVQ2 two in health and social care or the equivalent qualification. Your role will be to provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula, undertake physiological observations, escort patients from clinical areas, provide personal care and accurately document all interventions.Successful applicants will be required to complete an Induction course, which will include all the Trust statutory/Mandatory training to join our team inviting them to share their knowledge and experience with the ward; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.
You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative with effective interpersonal and communication skills, contributing fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to the professional development of all staff.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) is a member of the care team who provides:
Personal care or chaperone duties
Supporting patients with bathing, toileting, dressing and meals
Records patient information
A range of delegated clinical care duties
Undertakes and records patients' vital signs
Escalate any concerns in observation or change in patient's condition
Support and supervision of Band 2 clinical support workers
Enhanced observations
Patient escort role
