Job summary
The Assistant Quality and Training Manager for HSDU is a crucial role in supporting the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit. This position ensures that all training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comply with the MHRA guidelines and helps us to ensure we are meeting the requirements of our SGS certification which enables us to evidence we are meeting statutory requirements for reprocessing for our own and other Trusts.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
Training Management: Overseeing the training programmes for HSDU staff to ensure they are knowledgeable and competent in their roles.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Ensuring all procedures are up-to-date, accurately followed, and in line with MHRA guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Facilitating the achievement and maintenance of SGS quality accreditation, a mark of high standards in healthcare services.
Compliance and Standards: Monitoring compliance with regulatory standards to avoid breaches that could jeopardise the unit's accreditation and operational integrity.

- Evidenced of continued professional development to NVQ level 3 / 4 in relevant subject
- Apprenticeship in decontamination science / Level 3 B -Tec qualification / Technical certificate (IDSC)

- A minimum of 3 year as a sterile services technician
- Experience of training HSDU staff
- Previous experience of working as part of a team
