Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative midwife to work as part of the Delivery Suite Core Team, providing care to low and high risk women.
You will have at least 3 years of experience and demonstrate highly developed clinical and managerial skills within the Delivery Suite and hospital setting.
You will need to demonstrate evidence of strong leadership skills and the ability to participate in the continuing development of Women Centred Midwifery Practice. Evidence of professional development is essential.
**post is for 1 permanent full time post and a 12 month secondment**
Main duties of the job
To support the clinical midwifery management team by taking responsibility for the clinical area, including labour ward, obstetric theatre, postnatal/antenatal ward, as well as the assessment unit and triage areas.
You will be expected to liaise on a regular basis to assess workload and staff deployment.
You will be providing a role model for clinical excellence by maintaining own clinical competencies to a high standard.
You should aim to create a dynamic environment conducive to learning and professional development of staff including teaching of clinical skills to junior staff and to participate in audits of approved learning areas.
