Job summary

To support developments within the Emergency Departments, East Sussex Healthcare Trust requires further Locum Consultants in Emergency Medicine. The post holders will assist in the provision of a high quality emergency service as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary teamapproach to care within the speciality.

Main duties of the job

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operates two level 1 emergency departments at Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital with Conquest designated as a Trauma Unit.Applications are invited for the post of locum consultant in emergency medicine. The appointee will join the existing consultants to complete a team of five at each emergency department.

Duties will be based at Eastbourne but may on occasion work cross-site at Conquest with a 1 in 6 weekend and 1:5 on call. It is anticipated that when all posts are filled the timetabled PAs of all consultants will allow shop floor cover for the following hours:-A rotation between Monday-Fri shop floor cover 0800-1700 (or 1900 if on call)Sat-Sun 0800-1600 shop floor and 1in 6 on call.Consultant shifts to be covered are 1200 to 2200, 1400 to 0000 and 1600-0200We are particularly interested in candidates who have commitment to all aspects of Emergency Medicine and are keen to develop their careers.
