Health Care Assistants - Band 2

Full Time 37.5 hours - Internal rotation
Part time 23 hours - Internal Rotation
Salary - £22,383 per annum pro rata

Murray Ward is a busy 12-bedded Ward, plus escalation beds. We care forpatients who may have multiple medical conditions, are on multiple medications and are often require specialist support at home or in their care homes. Staff will also support patients who are acutely unwell, may also have poor recognition (dementia & delirium), difficulty in walking, falls and frailty
We are looking for experienced Health Care Assistant, hospital experience is desirable but not essential.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a Two Day long Induction course, which will include all the Trust statutory/Mandatory training to join our team inviting them to share their knowledge and experience with the ward; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.
We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of this ward with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.

Main duties of the job
The Health Care Assistant (Band 2) is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of routine patient care. The Health Care Assistant will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner. The Health care Assistant (Band 2) will also work closely and under supervision of the Health Care Assistant (Band 3) and where relevant Associate Practitioners

- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an acceptable, alternative Level 2 Qualification
