Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Programme Support Office (PSO) at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust to take on a Programme Manager role.

The Programme Support Office is a small team, focusing on delivering financial and non-financial benefits to support the trust's long term financial sustainability.

In this role you will provide programme and project management support and expertise to senior managers and their teams across the trust's Productivity portfolio to ensure delivery of the trust's strategic priorities, which include successful implementation of the cost improvement programme (CIP) and major Trust wide projects that form part of this programme.

This is a varied and challenging role in a complex and dynamic environment, but you will have a real opportunity to make a difference to the trust in securing the financial sustainability of the trust.

You will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with strong time management, organisational and Microsoft office skills. You will have excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

The successful candidate will be involved in the management, training and development of other members of the Trust, as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Using highly developed improvement and project management skills, lead the delivery of the portfolio of cost and productivity improvement projects ensuring that quality and safety of services are maintained and improved.

Provide 'hands on' programme and project management support and expertise to senior managers and their teams across the trust to ensure successful delivery of the programme objectives.

To maintain an overview of all workstreams performance against plan, identifying risks, issues, dependencies and relationships between workstreams; advising on & implementing appropriate mitigating and corrective actions or adjustments to the project plan.

To maintain robust project monitoring and control mechanisms to ensure the projects can be successfully delivered.

To ensure that good practice in project management as set out in PRINCE2 is adhered to and embedded - this will include the need for project teams to meet regularly, keep records of discussions and progress and follow up actions.

Analyse, interpret and present complex data and information from a variety of sources into a format that is consistent, accurate, relevant and appropriate for use by a variety of audiences.
