Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Procurement & Supplies team at Eastbourne DGH. This position has responsibility for the day-to-day management of purchase orders, dealing with Trust's internal customers, identifying and delivering financial and efficiency savings and expediting orders to ensure aneffective and efficient procurement service is provided to the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be highly customer focused, articulate with a good standard of education, including English Language and Mathematics, you will also be IT literate with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products. You must be self-motivated and possess the ability to plan and prioritise your workload to meet frequent tight deadlines, your skills as a team player will be paramount as will your focus upon organising, accuracy and detail. Previousexperience in a formal purchasing environment essential, together with the ability to manage and motivate a Team to deliver improved efficiency.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of education GCSE (Grade 3 and above in Maths and English)
  • NVQ level 3 qualification or proven equivalent experience
  • Ability to undertake in house training on department admin processes and specialist systems
  • Should be willing to undertake a supported programme of study leading to Foundation CIPS or similar procurement qualification

Desirable

  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)
  • ECDL or alternative recognised IT qualification

  • Significant relevant Purchasing or buying office experience
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Office Procedures and Practices
