An opportunity has arisen within the Pharmacy Procurement and High Cost Medicines team for a successful applicant to take on a new role as Band 4 Pharmacy High Cost Medicine and Procurement Supervisor
The role is to Supervise and participate in the activities of High Cost Medicines, Homecare, and procurement of medicines, by working closely with our Procurement and HCM supervisor, the Pharmacy Procurement Manager, HCM and Procurement team, and the wider Pharmacy team to ensure the Trust and Departmental objectives are met.
Main duties of the job
Supervise the Pharmacy Procurement and High Cost medicines officers in the day to day duties of Pharmacy High Cost Medicines Procurement. Be the main point of contact for day to day high cost medicines and homecare enquires. Provide assistance for the administration of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trusts pharmacy procurement services when required.
Supervise and participate in the activities of Homecare and High cost medicines and the procurement of medicines, by working closely with the Lead Technician for homecare, Pharmacy Procurement Manager and the wider Pharmacy team to ensure the Trust and Departmental objectives are met.
Take responsibility for the purchase of medicines for direct patient use, ward supply and assist in the processing of invoices for payment of pharmaceutical products for the Trust. Provide prompt and accurate data to Trust Finance, and other NHS members as appropriate. Process credit notes for pharmaceutical items which have been returned to suppliers, or for order discrepancies
It is expected that the following approximate proportions of role delivery will apply;
80% Supervise and Process Homecare service provision, High cost medicines and the Medicines Value programme, processing of invoices & reimbursement of costs.
20% Supervise and Process the Purchase of medicines and Administration Associated with the Procurement of Medicines

- Good general level of education including Maths and English
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent relevant field OR equivalent occupational knowledge and experience
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPs) foundation stage OR equivalent Occupational knowledge and experience
- Evidence of continued professional development acquired through courses and/or relevant experience
