Band 7 Senior Specialist Respiratory Practitioner (Nurse or Paramedic Practitioner) 37.5hrs 12 month fixed term/Secondment
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Regional East Sussex Pulmonary Service (RESPS) to support the delivery of a Respiratory Virtual Ward to patients in East Sussex.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated specialist respiratory practitioner with a wide range of skills to provide an expert service for the care and management of patients with chronic respiratory conditions and experiencing an acute exacerbation of symptoms.
Ther post available is open to nurses or paramedic practitioners with the relevant experience. The position will be a clinical lead post and you will be responsible for the clinical management of patients in the community on the virtual ward.
The RESPS team provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation, specialist physiotherapy, specialist nursing, oxygen and support with home NIV/neuromuscular diseases with respiratory complications across EHS and H&R CCG.
Main duties of the job
We are a team of physiotherapists, nurses and respiratory support workers that provide holistic care to respiratory patients within the community setting.
We are looking for someone with proven recent experience of working with patients with respiratory conditions. Experience of the community setting would be advantageous but not essential. You will have the ability to assess and interpret clinical conditions, have an awareness of current professional and research practice issues and be willing to participate in national and local audits, independent prescribing, or the willingness to undertake this training is desirable. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent organisational and time management skills. You must also be able to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
You will need to show your commitment, enthusiasm and drive to develop your own clinical, managerial and team working skills within the service. You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate effective teamwork. You will be supported through regular team meetings, 1-1 sessions and ongoing education and development. Access to a car and the ability to drive independently across the county is essential for the role. You will be able to claim a generous fuel allowance and will be provided with the equipment required to undertake patient care in the community setting.
