Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Analyst Developer who is looking to further their career by joining our expanding Database Administration and Integration team. Working in partnership with industry leading Microsoft Gold Partner Azure experts, you'll be responsible for the continuous development of data warehousing and reporting solutions which the Trust relies upon for the benefit of both its patients and staff.

This is a newly created position within a small but enthusiastic team who work closely together to seek out innovative solutions which ultimately support the delivery of the Trust's vision and Digital Strategy. You will be working on a number of exciting developments, including Azure Synapse and the implementation of a full Electronic Patient Record (EPR) across the Trust, alongside business as usual tasks.

You will need to have strong SQL (SSIS, SSRS and query building) skills, logical reasoning skills, analytics development skills and be experienced in optimising data models and queries. You will be required to gather requirements from our customers and design and develop robust and efficient data products for reporting and analytical uses.

Main duties of the job

The role offers the opportunity to lead on the design, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of current data flows and warehousing processes. The job role will include involvement in the planning and implementation of this process and the post holder will also be responsible for investigating and deploying innovative ways to improve systems.

You will be required to analyse and interpret complex data and develop software solutions to present this data to colleagues across the Trust in ways which are easily understood.

You will be a technical specialist, working alongside clinical and non-clinical colleagues, third party suppliers and senior managers, to suggest and implement solutions, monitoring and reporting on activity and maintaining standards of working in accordance with agreed design and project protocols.

  • Bachelor's degree in a computing related field
  • Evidence of ongoing learning to postgraduate level
  • In depth knowledge of database design, installation and maintenance, data migration techniques and relevant technologies/languages to master's degree level

Experience

  • Significant experience designing and developing highly complex data-centric solutions
  • Experience using SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Visual Studio in a commercial environment

  • Experience of extracting, manipulating and presenting highly complex datasets to non-technical end users in a clear and concise manner
