Job summary
We are excited to be offering an opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Breast Services. There is also scope to offer an annex 21 training opportunity.
We are looking for an experience advanced autonomous practitioner demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge in breast care services to join our team (although we are able to also offer an annex 21 training opportunity also) . The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload and clinics within the breast care pathways.
The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate leadership experience and skills and be able to manage a small team of specialist nurses and support workers.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will:
- Act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidence based patient care.
- Leadership and line management responsibilities of specified services/teams.
- Will work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Will work to agreed protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Will triage and see new 2ww referrals and follow-up of benign and malignant breast disease and participating in PIFU.
- Will undertake history taking, clinical breast examination, fine needle aspirations, punch biopsies, requesting radiological investigations and making a diagnosis.
- Will undertake administrative duties such as checking of imaging reports and communicating results to patients and GPs, and liaising with trackers and PPC's
- Will undertake Family history risk assessments and make direct referrals to a regional genetic unit.
- Provide support within the team and act as a role model and resource, encouraging and developing a high standard of clinical skill and improving patient outcome.
