Job summary
This is an exciting & unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the delivery of our Dietetic Oncology service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work as part of an established multi-disciplinary team, delivering nutrition support, advice & rehabilitation across a complex & diverse caseload
The Macmillan Dietetic Team consists of Dietitians & a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner. You will work closely with all members of the team & other members of the MDT e.g., the Clinical Nurse Specialists & Oncologists. We provide dietetic support to patients with Head & Neck, Upper GI, HBP, Lung, Colorectal, Haematological cancers & others. Clinical delivery extends across both acute & community settings as an integrated NHS Trust
The oncology team forms part of our close knit & supportive Dietetics department that includes over 40 clinicians & associated staff supporting the specialities of paediatrics, diabetes, intensive care, inpatients, acute rehabilitation, general outpatients, community nutrition support & gastroenterology
We are vibrant & thriving department that continually engages with new research and technology. We utilise globally renowned guest speakers to deliver training. The use of social media allows us to regularly share and celebrate our teams' achievements (@ESHTDietitians @ESHTPSDs). In addition to this, the team promotes & values a strong focus on the health and wellbeing of our staff through social events and activities
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will be an expert in dietetic practice and act as pivotal member of the team, able to make high level clinical decisions autonomously regarding their patients. The successful candidate will be actively involved in service development and quality improvement projects across both oncology and wider dietetic/clinical pathways. They will be expected to be involved in delivering training to a wide range of clinicians and teams, as well as demonstrating strong leadership in order to meet the development requirements of the four pillars of advanced practice.
