This Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to train as an Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and complete a degree apprenticeship.
The Western Cheshire IAPT Service is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join our well established, innovative, and successful IAPT team.
The Apprenticeship programme is a 2 year course delivered by UCLAN and successful applicants will start the course in September 2024. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate commitment to the academic requirements of the course and the end point assessment.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner role in IAPT has recently been introduced to provide non-clinical support to Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and is an excellent opportunity for any applicant who wishes to pursue a career within Primary Care Mental Health. The role is unique in that it is tailor made to strengthen the delivery of the IAPT Step 2 service. It has developed over the last 2 years and is continually evolving to meet changing service demands.
Assistant Practitioners work under the direction of our qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP). Their level of training and experience means Assistant Practitioners can often work alone, without supervision, referring to a professional for guidance when necessary.
The programme combines both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers. The study modules are designed to cover a range of skills and knowledge required by support staff working in health and social care and will equip students to create a portfolio of evidence of your knowledge, skills and competencies as applied in their workplace. On successful completion of the course, students will receive the FdSc (Hons) Assistant Practitioner (Degree Apprenticeship) from the University of Central Lancashire.
