We are excited to announce a vacancy for a mental health nurse leadership post within the Specialist Mental Health (SMH) Care Group at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and highly skilled mental health nurse who is anexceptional leader, motivated to promote and capable to enable, high quality nursing care at all levels. Bringing about the best outcomes for ourservices users, carers, and communities that we serve and best experiences for our nurses who provide care. The post holder will act as theProfessional Lead for Nursing in the SMH Care Group, working closely with both the Strategic Clinical Director and Associate Director ofOperations of the SMH Care Group and the Associate Director of Nursing and Therapies; Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
Main duties of the job
To provide a professional voice for nursing across the SMH Care Group and to further develop the vision of the nursing contribution, to theoverarching ambitions of the SMH Care Group. Through effective networking and matrix working with peers, operational and professional leads,
and experts by experience across the SMH Care Group, this post will play a key role in identifying the nursing workforce's transformative potential,supporting innovation and new ways of working to meet current and future needs of the people of Cheshire and Wirral. A key priority will beengaging, supporting, and maximising the potential of the senior nurse leaders to be at their best and to provide exceptional nurse leadership intheir own areas of practice and teams, including with Consultant Nurses, Modern Matrons and Advanced Clinical Practitioners. To participate inthe out of hour's tier 2 on call rota.
As the Professional Lead for Nursing you will be a core member of the SMH Care Group Senior Leadership Team - the nurse professionalleadership contribution will be centred around:o Care quality, improvement and research, patient safety and experience, clinical effectiveness, safer staffing, and service transformation.o Clinical practice - working at an advanced clinical level in their own nursing practice, supporting, enabling, and advising on best nursingpractice and standards.o Education - continuing professional development, workforce development, preceptorship, and student education.
