Job summary
- To assist in the delivery of high quality occupational therapy and physiotherapy plans to patients with rehabilitation needs based across two inpatient rehabilitation wards at Ellesmere Port Hospital.
- To work alongside Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff and alongside the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Liaise with therapy colleagues, members of wider MDT, patient families, outside agencies as directed by qualified therapists
Main duties of the job
- To work under the direction of a qualified therapist carrying out therapeutic intervention on a daily basis.
- To implement patient treatment plans, written by the qualified therapist
- To observe patients, either individually or in groups and report all relevant observations to qualified therapists.
- To accurately record interventions electronically using an in house computer based system in a timely manner.
- To take responsibility for attending and participating in clinical supervision
- To attend in service training and external training to ensure skills and knowledge are current.
- To undertake mandatory training and attend staff meetings
- To maintain confidentiality in line with Trust Policy.
