We have a fantastic opportunity, due to staff development and promotion of the previous post holder, to recruit a highly motivated Challenging Behaviour/Autism Advanced Nurse Practitioner in our established East Cheshire Learning Disability Community Health Team which covers Macclesfield and Crewe areas.
The service provides person-centred support to people with learning disabilities who may also experience co-morbid mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour and/or autism using multi-disciplinary approaches, with a thriving, committed skilled team of psychiatrists, community nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists.
Suitable candidates will have had significant clinical experience working with people with learning disabilities and be able to demonstrate clinical and strategic leadership experience and qualities.
Main duties of the job
You will have the opportunity to take a key role in service development and research and be integral to ongoing development of robust clinical pathways, as we strive to ensure the most appropriate interventions are offered in a timely manner, with service user satisfaction at the core.
The postholder will carry out assessments and interventions to facilitate positive change and enhance life quality for people with learning disabilities, through direct and indirect support, working in an adaptable way across a range of community settings.
A commitment to quality improvement initiatives and research is essential as we host the Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID).
Access to transport for work purposes is essential as you will be required to travel as part of your role.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to receive quality supervision and support from a highly supportive, protective and innovative senior management team. Supervision will be provided by the Nurse Consultant and we support staff in seeking further relevant education and training, thus providing excellent development opportunities.
