Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 2 Band 7 Mental Health Substance Misuse Practitioners to work collaboratively with Cheshire East and Cheshire West National Probation Service.

National Probation service have secured funding therefore, this is an opportunity to develop and implement a service over a fixed term period of 2 years.

Post holder for Cheshire West will have additional management responsibility as additional funding has been secured to recruit a Band 4 Mental Health Dual Diagnosis Worker for Cheshire West/Chester area.

Post holders will be employed by CWP and managed by Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Team.

Base- negotiated. Expectation to spend majority of the working week in National Probation Premises.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work autonomously, and with key stakeholders to support clinical input and pathway management of individual's within the criminal justice field.

There will be an expectation that the post holder will be working with complex presentations and offending behaviour to support clinical outcomes.

Excellent communication skills are vital to develop effective working relationships with service users, families, professionals and other services.

Essential

  • Appropriate professional registration/ Qualificaton
  • Academic qualification in relevant subject.
  • Training in risk assessment and risk management
  • Professional knowledge in relation to substance misuse/dual diagnosis acquired via degree, experience/CPD
  • Mentorship qualified
  • Working towards 2nd degree (Masters or equivalent) in relevant subject area.

Desirable

  • oTraining in relevant assessment and intervention approaches (i.e. behavioural, CBT etc.)
  • Leadership training.
