Job summary

Join our GP team and receive a £10,000 retention payment after 12 months

We are looking to appoint a part-time salaried GP to join our team of 2 salaried GPs for 6 sessions per week. Ideally we would like to offer every Monday AM, all day Wednesday, Thursday AM and all day Friday, however we would be happy to be flexible for the right candidate.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) is offering a retention and relocation payment package for salaried GP posts within any of the Trust's three GP practices in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire

Through the scheme, if your application is successful and you take up employment with CWP in a salaried GP post, you will receive a retention payment of £10,000 from us when you have been in post with us for 12 months.

We are also offering a separate relocation payment package of up to £8,000 for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up a role with CWP. This one-off payment will be awarded on a case-by-case basis.

To be eligible for the relocation payment, you must live more than 40 miles from the base/location of the post you are applying for and you would need to relocate to within 15 miles of the new base. Main duties of the job

Within the contract, GP's are provided with 4hrs of CPD time per week (pro rata) during which there are opportunities for professional development, audits, service transformation and more. There are opportunities within the surgery to take a lead role (e.g. PCN, safeguarding, prescribing, sepsis lead). Your clinical supervision will be provided by our Clinical Director Dr Rajan Rajesh, who also works as a GP within Westminster Surgery. Peer supervision with medical colleagues within CWP's two other GP Surgeries is also available and encouraged.

Based in Ellesmere Port, we have a practice population of 3,400 and are an active member of One Ellesmere Port PCN, together with 5 other local surgeries. Our practice team comprises an advanced clinical practitioner, practice nurse, HCA, clinical pharmacist, mental health worker and we are well supported by our experienced admin team. We work closely with our community care team and hold regular MDT meetings. As part of CWP, we are supported by our safeguarding and medicines management teams, mental health colleagues and children, young people and families colleagues.

  • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
  • Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
