Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Wirral's Specialist Mental Health Services. You will be a key part in liaising with GPs and the Primary Care Networks to support patients getting timely mental health assessment and care.

The Wirral Access team is the single point of access function to adult secondary mental health services in the Wirral. Our multi skilled staff group offer assessments, advice and support on both health & social care issues which may impact on a person's mental health.

The team are based at the Stein Centre at St Catherine's Hospital in Birkenhead. Access to transport for work purposes is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be delivering specialist assessments and interventions to service users and carers within the team caseload. You may be asked to deputise for the team manager during periods of annual leave, sickness and absence. In doing so you will act as a point of contact for all internal and external agencies associated with the running of the team.

Essential

  • Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with the appropriate professional body
  • Professional knowledge acquired through a relevant degree plus relevant experience for working with complex cases

Desirable

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • NVQ A 1 qualification
  • Relevant mentorship qualification as required by governing body
  • Specialist practitioner qualification (SPQ)

Knowledge and Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of working within the recovery focused philosophy framework
  • Knowledge of delivering individual service user focused specialist assessments
