To this end we require a full-time post and seek a consultant who is able to demonstrate their ability to lead and develop services and interact well with cross-site maxillofacial consultants from the neighbouring Trust (Bradford Teaching Hospital), local GPs and dentists.

The post-holder will be expected to be independent in Oral Surgery and demonstrate a commitment to teaching. The appointee will join the Dental Specialties Team as a Consultant in Oral Surgery and will be responsible for the care of the Oral Surgery patients together with the existing Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery consultants. The successful candidate will be required to undertake managerial duties associated with the care of their patients and the running of the department and will be expected to participate in all facets of departmental activity. Managerial and high-level governance experience is therefore a requirement for this role

This is likely to require negotiated changes of duties and time-tabled sessions from time to time. Cross-site working is rarely required for this role but may be necessary especially when dealing with the paediatric cohort.
