Applications are invited for a substantive post of Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with general skills in both obstetrics and gynaecology, at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust. The post would suit an enthusiastic, forward-thinking team player who is dedicated to provide high-quality patient care and complementing the current team.The position has become available to ensure the continued provision of services following the retirement of the previous post holder. The replacement post will enable us to maintain our antenatal clinic service year-round, as well as our gynaecology outpatient service for recovery. TheWomen's and Family Health ServicesDirectorate is also exploring the possibility of moving to a split obstetrics and gynaecology rota once the required number of consultants is achieved. This would provide an opportunity for greater flexibility in the job plan in the future.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a flexible, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual who is committed to team working to join an existing team of consultants providing a comprehensive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service.The post holder will participate in a 1:13 on-call rota at Calderdale Royal Hospital. There will be a resident on-call element to the role between the hours of 18:00 and 22:00 Monday to Friday, and 08:00 to 19:30 on Saturday and Sunday when on call. The post holder will also be responsible for covering acute obstetrics and gynaecology on a "hot week" basis (Monday to Friday) between 08:00 and 18:00. The number of hot weeks per annum may range from 4 to 6.The service is currently working toward a split obstetrics and gynaecology rota, so the frequency of hot weeks and on-call shifts may change based on service needs.
