Job summary
The Pathology IT Team at CHFT is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our small team, primarily based at Calderdale Royal Hospital. If you possess a solid understanding and experience in IT, particularly its application in healthcare and diagnostic laboratories, this opportunity could be ideal for you. In addition to handling routine tasks, the team is actively involved in deploying new digital solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency and quality of diagnostic services for CHFT patients.
These initiatives encompass the introduction of a new Laboratory Information System, state-of-the-art analytical equipment, and the advancement of digital solutions in Histopathology and Transfusion.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure the delivery of appropriate training packages to various staff grades for all IT solutions within the directorate.
- To implement projects both independently and under the supervision of the Pathology IT manager, depending on the project.
- To take a lead role in the support, development, maintenance and administration of the Pathology IT system- iLab Apex and its linked systems, and any other Pathology IT systems.
- To perform and facilitate data extraction and reporting from Pathology IT systems.
- To ensure and maintain data quality within Pathology IT systems.
- To provide training and support for Pathology IT system users.
- To act as a link between the Pathology department and the local IT provider - The Health Informatics Service (THIS).
