Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Dietitian, to become part of a friendly and supportive Dietetic department and a valued and integral member of the MDT providing support to gastroenterology patients.
The successful candidate will work with an established and experienced team who are friendly, supportive and committed to excellent outcomes for our patients. The successful candidate will work with an experienced gastro Dietitian covering inpatient and outpatient work. There is the opportunity to be involved in multidisciplinary research projects and the team are currently about to participate in the OCEAN trial.
The successful candidate would have a comprehensive clinical dietetic knowledge and be able to conduct independent clinics, facilitate patient education and support groups and provide dietetic advice and support.

For the right applicant we would consider a Band 5 to Band 6 development post and to be considered for this you will need to have completed post registration experience in the NHS.
Applicants must have had Dietetic experience in the NHS at under graduate or post graduate level - interviews will be held on Tuesday 4th June 2024 and will be in person/face-to-face.
Main duties of the job
This specialist post requires someone with vision and enthusiasm to continue shaping and developing the dietetic service to this patient group. You will support nutritional needs during inpatient episodes of care providing advice on range of gastro conditions including high output stoma, short bowel syndrome, gastrointestinal obstruction/perforation, decompensated liver disease and Inflammatory bowel disease. You will deliver specialist gastro dietetic clinics advising on a range of gastro conditions including functional bowel disorder, coeliac disease, pancreatitis, bile acid malabsorption and providing the FODMAP service. There is a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary projects and the whole team, including very supportive consultants, are well motivated to achieve quality, evidence based care. The inpatient service is involved with care of clients with eating disorders who require nutritional support prior to transfer to tertiary centre for ongoing support.
