If yes, then this post is for you. We are looking for a 12 month Locum Consultant in Urology to join us within the General Surgery Directorate at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

The Department of Urology seeks to appointment a locum consultant urologist to join our existing team of 6 consultants and 6 specialty doctor for 12 months on a flexible job plan

This post is fixed term to support with our receovery programme within urology and would welcome applicants with any urology specialist interest

The Trust and NHS is facing a time of transformation, challenge and opportunity. The Urology team is developing its service as part of GIRFT recommendations , introducing new ways of working and to further develop its urology diagnostic unit. The trust have recently procured a CMR surgical robotic system whic is already being used within the urology services.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Urology Consultant to join our friendly and enthusiastic team for a short period of time consisting of 6 Consultants and 6 specialty doctors at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is ideal for urologist who are keen to explore new innovative improvements within the service and have an interest and active role in teaching.

There is a strong focus on career development and professional support within a forward-thinking and supportive urology department.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise

Desirable

  • Relevant higher degree (MD/PhD)
  • It is desirable for applications to have Specialist registration in Urology (or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK) but consideration will be given to applicants with relevant consultant level experience or trainees in a UK training scheme who are within 6 months of attaining specialist registration.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Urology

Desirable

  • Understanding current issues within Urology and the future direction of the specialty
