Job summary

Applications are encouraged and welcome from experienced Drs in Emergency Medicine working at ST3+ competencies. You will be encouraged and empowered to develop your own sub-specialty interest.

Equivalent years' experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.

These are full-time posts, based primarily within the Emergency Department of either Huddersfield Royal Infirmary or Calderdale Royal Hospital. The post-holders will be expected to work on other sites according to the needs of the service.

This role could be an excellent opportunity for clinicians who wish to progress their career via CESR to consultant level within the UK or consolidate their experience under a Medical Training Initiative programme in the UK. W

Posts are offered on a full-time basis, but candidates who wish to work less than full-time are also encouraged to apply. All post holders must be fully registered with GMC and hold a current license to practice.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will take part in the Emergency Medicine on-call rota, either at Calderdale or Huddersfield depending on service requirements and prior discussion.

All Emergency Department Clinicians will be responsible for the assessment and early management of patients who are acutely ill and injured as well as treating patients with less serious illnesses and injuries.

Specialty Drs are expected to provide professional supervision and development of all Junior Doctors, Physician Associates and ACPs with the general clinical management of patients attending the Emergency Department. You will be expected to comply with the Emergency Departments and Trust's policies and to maintain their skills and knowledge through CPD.
