Equivalent years' experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
These are full-time posts, based primarily within the Emergency Department of either Huddersfield Royal Infirmary or Calderdale Royal Hospital. The post-holders will be expected to work on other sites according to the needs of the service.
This role could be an excellent opportunity for clinicians who wish to progress their career via CESR to consultant level within the UK or consolidate their experience under a Medical Training Initiative programme in the UK. W
Posts are offered on a full-time basis, but candidates who wish to work less than full-time are also encouraged to apply. All post holders must be fully registered with GMC and hold a current license to practice.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will take part in the Emergency Medicine on-call rota, either at Calderdale or Huddersfield depending on service requirements and prior discussion.
All Emergency Department Clinicians will be responsible for the assessment and early management of patients who are acutely ill and injured as well as treating patients with less serious illnesses and injuries.
Specialty Drs are expected to provide professional supervision and development of all Junior Doctors, Physician Associates and ACPs with the general clinical management of patients attending the Emergency Department. You will be expected to comply with the Emergency Departments and Trust's policies and to maintain their skills and knowledge through CPD.

The Trusts is investing in its Emergency Medicine department and is recruiting to these Specialty doctor posts to support the delivery of Emergency Care and the development of the service.
With significant investment in the department, these posts present an opportunity to be involved in the early stages of our reconfiguration of hospital services across Calderdale & Huddersfield. This includes development of a purpose-built Emergency Department at Huddersfield, due to open in autumn 2023 as well as an Urgent & Emergency Care Centre at Calderdale.
We are transforming our services so that all acute inpatient services are delivered at Calderdale Royal Hospital in addition to an Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, a new Emergency Department, Urgent Care facility, dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department, along with purpose built Same Day Emergency Care facilities and a number of new wards.
This will give us a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only design our working environment, but also to transform the way we deliver care. By utilising the latest digital, medical and clinical technology we can enhance the patient experience as well as providing a positive environment for staff.
The role will be a senior role within the department and the successful candidate will work with the current senior team in supporting and developing the department, team and working towards the wider organisational goals and culture.
