Job summary
Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials (HPS) is a NHS hosted Specials manufacturing unit.Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable specials throughout the UK to both Primary and Secondary Care. At HPS we manufacture a wide range of products including dermatological, oral and topical liquids, infusion fluids and ampoules. We also provide a bespoke packaging and labelling service.
The facility has a MHRA Manufacturer "Specials" Licence (MS), a Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA(H)) and a Manufacturing Licence for Investigational Medicinal Products (Clinical Trials) (MIA(IMP)).
HPS has recently been transformed into a semi-autonomous division reporting to the CHFT Board through its own Management Board.
Main duties of the job
The Manufacturing Operative will work within our established manufacturing unit. The post holder undertakes the preparation, filling and packaging of medicines, together with a wide range of other activities to support the manufacturing section.
The work is carried out according to standard operating procedures designed to comply with the principles of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
The work is mainly undertaken in a clean room environment, which requires the applicant to change into specialized clean room clothing
About us
The ideal candidate will be a good team player but capable of working by themselves if required. Accuracy and attention to detail are important in this role. Some experience of working with computerised systems and documentation systems would be an advantage.
