Job summary

We have created a new role to support our international nurse recruitment campaign and are looking for a dynamic drive colleague to join the Trust to support the Clinical Education Team and the Recruitment service. The post holder will source, recruit and onboard our international nurses are they start their career at CHFT and become registered nurses.

Roles involve working with internal and external teams and agencies.

Main duties of the job

To support the Nursing Recruitment Support Office in recruiting and engaging with band 5 international nurses. To ensure that the process of recruitment is seamless and timely. To work with colleagues to ensure that recruits are actively engaged and supported prior to commencing employment. To work with the Clinical Education and Recruitment team with onboarding activity as appropriate to all areas of the Trust.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for the provision of an effective, high quality recruitment and on boarding service within the Trus
  • To comply with Recruitment protocols to ensure recruitment complies with best practice in regard to advertising, recruitment and pre employment checks
  • To ensure the operational recruitment activity is customer focused, efficient, effective and delivered to the highest possible professional standards.
  • Involvement in lean processes/systems to ensure an efficient, effective and quality recruitment service
  • To deliver to a consistently high standard of service
  • To support the Recruitment Manager on all operational activity across the recruitment service
  • Administer the recruitment and selection process from vacancy control to appointment Responsibilities to include; maintaining recruitment files, monitoring shortlisting and appointment outcomes, arranging interviews and ensuring pre employment checks are completed as per procedure.
  • Input personal details for newly appointed staff promptly and accurately onto the Trusts Electronic Staff Record.
  • Responsible for the administration of the NHS Jobs website (e-recruitment) and Trac (recruitment system)
  • Responsible for completing pre-employment letters, offer letters and contracts of employment
  • Provide an efficient and courteous telephone service to members of the public and all Trust staff, using empathy and diplomacy where necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate pre-employment checks are carried out prior to issuing offers of employment Responsible for ensuring all pre-employment checks are undertaken for all new employees in accordance with Trust policy and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all professional staff are suitably qualified and registered with the relevant professional body.
  • Process Disclosure and Barring Service [DBS] checks where appropriate
  • Identify any restrictions on working in the United Kingdom on successful candidates, advising recruiting managers and processing sponsorship applications where appropriate
  • Collate electronic personal files for new starters, ensuring adherence to the file management protocol.
  • Provide administrative support to the corporate induction programme ensuring all new starters receive a high standard of on-boarding.
  • Participate in internal and external careers and recruitment events as required.
  • Match redeployees with potentially suitable vacancies and advising relevant HR Manager of possible matches
  • Attend and participate in regular recruitment team meetings.
  • Carry out general administrative/clerical duties commensurate with the band and remit of the post
  • Ensure all systems and processes within the recruitment service are carried out in accordance with statutory requirements and agreed Trust policies.
  • Adhere to the Directorate assurance framework for the delivery of the recruitment service
  • To develop effective working relationships with designated Division/Directorates, ensuring recruitment issues are identified, understood and individual service needs are dealt with effectively.
  • To escalate issues and take advice from the Recruitment Manager as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of all employee and establishment data held on the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure data quality protocols are adhered to across the Directorates IT systems.
  • Ensure there is an accurate and robust filing system for the personnel records of current employees and leavers from the Trust in accordance with the Directorates protocol.
  • Ensure recruitment systems and processes, standard operating procedures and any legislative developments or changes in Trust policy and procedures are adhered to

  • The post holder will liaise closely with the E-rostering team to ensure all new starters are entered onto the E-roster system so they are no delays.
