Job responsibilities

• Plan and organise immunisation sessions in schools and where necessary, alternative community settings and clients homes.
• Deliver the school age immunisation programme in line with current medicines management policy and procedures.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to schools to achieve the successful delivery of the school based immunisation programme.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with NMC standards.
• Assist with data collection and the completion of statistical information

Qualifications

Essential

• Active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on part one or two of the register

Desirable

• Post registration qualifications

Experience

Desirable

• Post registration experience of working with children, young people and their families in the community
• Experience in the delivery of immunisation programmes

Training

Essential

• Evidence of continuing professional development

Special Knowledge/ Expertise

Essential

• Basic IT skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of the current National Childhood immunisation Programme
• Knowledge of Safeguarding Policies and Proceedures
