We are seeking an experienced, high calibre pharmacist who is looking to advance their career and build on their clinical, IT and leadership skills to lead our Joint EPR Medications Team. EPR Prescribing is live across the majority of inpatient and outpatient areas.
Main duties of the job
This role is to act as specialist EPR Pharmacist, developing, implementing and supporting all elements of the Trusts EPR relating to prescribing and medicines usage and to work closely with both organisations Pharmacy Departments on Pharmacy Informatics Projects. The post holder will be an expert in their field and will be expected to make decisions about situations which may involve a number of complicated or highly complex components.

- Be the Pharmacy lead to facilitate current and future state design work to establish a design for electronic prescribing and medicines usage.
- To liaise with multidisciplinary clinical teams across both trusts on matters relating to e-prescribing.
- To ensure all processes relating to e-prescribing are safe and appropriate.
- To audit the prescribing elements of the EPR to ensure continuous improvement and adaptation of the system in order to meet clinical needs.
- To continue to develop EPR to support the implementation and use of agreed clinical protocols.
- To lead on the configuration & support of electronic prescribing within the Trust.
- To assist in the delivery, maintenance and support of EPR
- To be responsible for providing the highly specialist knowledge required to ensure that the Trust's EPR electronic prescribing system promotes the safe and effective use of medicines.
- To be the main interface and point of contact between Pharmacy and the EPR Team
- To gather and provide input from clinical users of the EPR electronic prescribing system to improve the functionality of electronic prescribing
- To promote and implement electronic prescribing in an effective and positive manner appropriate to clinical groups and to assist the Training team/Digital Change management team in the training of Pharmacy EPR users
- To attain and maintain expert EPR user status configuration functional and associated work practices

Essential
- MPharm or equivalent
- Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Masters Degree in Clinical Pharmacy or the equivalent degree of experience in a specific clinical area of practice at an advanced level.
Desirable
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and working towards or having achieved Faculty accreditation
- Certificate in Independent & Supplementary Prescribing
- Relevant management qualification or equivalent experience
- Service improvement qualification

- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
- Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
