Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking
Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a well established and
experienced Rapid Response CAMHS team
in Berkshire.
Due to vacancies created by new service developments and staff
changing roles we have a total of 10PAs available within the Team (based at
Reading).
The role is mainly based at 25 Erleigh
Road, in close proximity to Royal Berkshire Hopsital and easy access to the Town Centre. There
will be travel required between CAMHS sites and to the other Hopsital in the
locality, Wexham Park Hospital for meetings and assessments.
About the service
Berkshire Healthcare CAMHS provides a pathway model of care
with locality-based specialist community teams working alongside county-wide
specialist care pathway teams including a CBT pathway for anxiety & mood
disorders, neurodevelopmental services, EIP and CAMHS Eating disorders. This
role is based in one of these county-wide teams the Rapid Response team,
which supports crisis presentations for the under 18 year olds.
The Consultant will
be based at 25 Erleigh Road in Reading and covers the two main hospital
locations Royal Berkshire and Wexham Park Hospital. The consultant will be
primarily responsible for the provision of psychiatric services to children
and young people presenting in crisis..
Main duties of the job
The Berkshire Rapid Response Team and Intensive Treatment team
are a cohesive multi-disciplinary team of professionals including Psychiatry,
Psychologists, Family Therapist, Mental Health Practitioners (including
Advanced and Senior roles) with professional backgrounds in Mental Health
Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work. These roles are supported by
an admin team who effectively support the administrative functions of our
services. Our staff are our greatest asset and we value our Consultant
Psychiatry colleagues, working closely with them with appreciation of their
expert skills and thoughtful reflection around young people and their
families. The Trust aims to provide a supportive and Quality Improvement led
environment and Clinicians like
working in West Berkshire and tend to stay due to the positive team culture.
This role comprises 10PA sessions as part of a 22PA total of
Psychiatry provision. The Main Duties for this role is to provide Consultant
Psychiatry Leadership and Medical Input to the Team, Monday -Friday
(approximate core hours are 9-5).
