We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, organised and enthusiastic ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, NURSE or CLINIAL RESEARCH PRACTITIONER to join Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior (band 6) research practitioner in the Research and Development Team.
Berkshire Healthcare is one of the most research active Mental Health and Community Trusts in the country working on a range of study specialisms including Dementia, Mental Health, Sexual Health, and Physical Health.
As a senior Research practitioner based in the trust, you will work alongside the existing team leading and coordinating the delivery of the Research portfolio. Working clinically with the team you will promote high standards of both patient care and research practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated nurse, AHP or CRP, with management and research experience. You must have effective organisational, communicational and excellent time management skills. You should demonstrate the ability to manage your own workload and to work as part of a team.
This post is based at University of Reading, Whiteknights Campus, but you will be required to travel as required by the job role and as such a time efficient mode of transportation is essential. Currently the Trust is supporting hybrid working where appropriate.
Work Pattern: Usually Mon-Fri 9-5 but some flexibility may be required.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assessing and managing the research pathway for patients participating in Research. This will involve identifying suitable study participants, undertaking study assessments and procedures and ensuring patient safety by reviewing and recording adverse events.
You should have excellent communication skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others as well demonstrating significant initiative. You should be able to work autonomously, demonstrate enthusiasm and innovation when faced with challenges and be able to utilise excellent project management, quality improvement and time management skills in conducting the research
The role involves collecting accurate data, management of tissue or other biological samples, carrying out clinical assessments, and document generation and control. You will be required to be trained in venepuncture for this role and a keen eye for detail is required.
Working both autonomously and within the Research Team to drive clinical research delivery performance for Berkshire Healthcare, ensuring research is conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), current legislation and research governance patients will be supported to receive research opportunities of very standard.
Flexibility between Mental Health, Dementia and Community based Portfolio studies is required.
