An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced individual to take on a leadership role within Community Inpatient Wards in East Berkshire.
Based at Henry Tudor Ward, St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead, this role involves delivering high-quality care to older adults across East Berkshire, with a focus on discharge-to-assess, medical optimisation, sub-acute medical needs, and rehabilitation.
You will be NMC registered, hold a leadership/ management qualification (or willing to work towards) and have previous experience at Band 6 level within a ward-based environment.

Main duties of the job
- Overseeing the effective management and daily operations of Henry Tudor Ward.
- To offer visible, first line leadership and support to the nursing and administrative staff on the ward.
- Work with acute and community services, as well as local stakeholders, both within and outside the locality, to ensure the timely and appropriate transfer of patients to the community hospital and onward destinations.
- To offer guidance and support on both routine and complex patient and staff-related matters.
- To lead by example, demonstrating excellent patient care and strong clinical leadership

We deliver quality services for patients requiring generic rehabilitation for mostly older persons, deliver frailty, subacute and discharge to assess pathways. The post will give you an opportunity to be part of a service with an exciting future and a key part of the NHS Ageing Well program.
It is recognised that specific skills and knowledge are required to deliver competent and compassionate care to patients with complex needs. This post provides maximum learning and development opportunities which will equip you to care for a range of patients in a community clinical setting. This opportunity will allow you to experience a holistic view of services and gain knowledge of the full range of health and social services available for patients, both within hospital environment and other services in the community that can
