Are you a qualified or soon to be qualified Occupational Therapist? Are you looking for a diverse role which can offer you a wealth of experience working in both adult mental health and physical rehab support services?
We have a rare opportunity for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our team here in Reading in a well-established rotation role. We are offering a mixed Occupational Therapy rotation and the opportunity to gain experience in the following teams:
o Inpatient mental health (based at Prospect Park Hospital)
o Inpatient physical rehabilitation support (based at Prospect Park Hospital)
o Our community intermediate care team which includes our hospital avoidance pathway and falls service
In each rotation you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with other agencies to provide evidence-based interventions to the people that access our services.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career and join our established multi professional preceptorship program with support to work through your band 5 competencies. You will also have access to our trust wide learning and development program, have access to our Occupational Therapy learning forums and band 5 Occupational Therapy peer support.
The inpatient services operate Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00pm. In the community rotation there is an expectation to work some weekends (on a rota basis)
Main duties of the job

Participate in the band 5 rotation - rotating every 8mths following discussion with line manager and Occupational Therapy professional lead.

To plan and organise a designated caseload of patient and their own professional activities under the supervision of a senior qualified Therapist.

To work with patients and carers to identify therapy goals using standardised and non-standardised assessment tools to assess their skill deficits and occupational needs.

To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment interventions to measure progress and ensure effectiveness.

Contribute specific Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills to the multi-professional team.

Participate in supervision of junior staff and students as required.
