Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Oakwood Unit for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic band 3 Admin & Clerical for a full-time post (37.5hrs)

Oakwood is a nurse led community inpatient hospital with 24 beds. We are a very friendly team with In-House doctors, Nurses, health care assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Multi Therapy assistants.

The role will be based in the Oakwood inpatient community hospital which aims to support patients in increasing rehabilitative goals and functional abilities during a short stay to enable them to return home.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our multidisciplinary team, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm are the preferred hours, but this is flexible. You will provide effective and efficient administrative, technical and clerical support to the in-patient ward. You will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team and assist in the promotion of a high-quality service and improvements.

Main duties of the job

  • Completing the admin and clerical tasks for the community in patient unit daily

  • Maintaining medical files

  • Preparing documentation for admission and discharge

  • Communicating with external providers to arrange appointments, transport and investigations

  • Communicating with the wider team to facilitate a smooth patient journey and positive patient experience
