PART TIME 22.5 HOURS PER WEEK

If you are a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with leadership experience, this is an ideal opportunity to progress into an operational management role within a supportive and dynamic leadership team in our Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) division.

This permanent post is part time (22.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday) and is based in Reading. Whilst this management role is part-time, we also encourage candidates seeking full-time or 30 hours per week posts to apply as there may be clinical opportunities within the service which can be discussed at interview.

The successful applicant will work alongside the existing operational leads to share the responsibility for operationally leading the CYPIT service for school aged children and those within special schools and SLT Resources across the 3 unitary authorities in the west of Berkshire. You will support integrated teams of SLTs, OTs, Physios and assistants to embed a robust and continually improving approach, which promotes the development and wellbeing of children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

Our CYPIT service supports children, young people from birth - 19 years of age across Berkshire. We are a integrated therapy service, offering easy access to services through a single point of access, web-based advice via an on-line resource. We have established integrated approaches to the care that we offer families, the successful candidate would be able to take an active part in ongoing service developments.

  • Accountable for the delivery of high quality, effective and integrated services in mainstream schools, special schools and specialist resources which meet performance requirements

  • Oversight of CYPIT involvement in SEND processes in the west, linking with CYPF SEND leads to ensure that we meet EHCP statutory deadlines and support staff to contribute to Tribunals.

  • Development of an effective and motivated workforce

  • Active role in strategic planning and the development of the services and policies across the organisation, including involvement of service user

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships and communication links with internal and external stakeholders including commissioners and patients/carers

  • Support the investigation, resolution, analysis and learning in relation to complaints and incidents

  • Responsible for ensuring that relevant clinical and performance data is collected, including contribution to performance reports for commissioners

  • Deputises for the CYPF Lead for School Years services (west)
