IPASS (The Integrated Pain and Spinal Service) is looking to recruit a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist on a fixed term 1 year contract for 0.8 wte (30hrs) to work within our Pain team.
You will be joining an established pain psychology team which offers a range of short-term pain management interventions for chronic pain which incorporate working with the mind and the body. The post holder will deliver a range of holistic individual and group interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and alongside Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists. We recognise that Assistant Psychologists are looking to further their career in the Psychology professions and promote opportunities for development whenever possible.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be contributing to the work of the psychologists in the team, as well as other professionals in IPASS.
The post-holder is required, under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner Psychologist, to work directly with service users and carers to provide evidence-based psychological interventions.
The post-holder will co-ordinate and assist in the development and delivery of groups as the service requires, and will also be required to occasionally work individually with service users and their family/carers to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions.
The post-holder will work jointly with a registered practitioner psychologist, and offer training jointly to other team members/services to enable and support the delivery of psychologically informed care in relation to chronic pain.
The post-holder will undertake administrative, audit and service evaluation tasks as directed and deliver reports and presentations associated with any such undertakings as required.
