First Contact Practitioner / part time / no 'On call' work / Roadmap + MSc level training supported / Free staff parking. Patient experience and Staff Health & wellbeing is high on our agenda. This post is for 30 hours/week.
If you are someone passionate about your career and looking to develop your skills in the primary care setting as an FCP, this part time role is for you. We have an exciting opportunity to work within our MSK Physiotherapy Service across East Berkshire, leading our First Contact Practitioner team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking highly specialised and comprehensive triage and management of common and complex MSK conditions at first presentation in primary care. Applicants will be required to use advanced clinical reasoning skills to form accurate diagnosis and provide management plans to include further investigations, lifestyle and rehabilitation advice, onward referrals to secondary care, physiotherapy and other members of the MDT.
Main duties of the job
In addition, this role provides the opportunity to work with the Head of Physiotherapy to ensure that an efficient, effective FCP service is operating across Berkshire East. This will include managing a small tea of FCPs, liaising with CCGs and ensuring that the systems are in place to maintain a safe service, and that relevant learning is shared with the wider service.
We are committed to advancing you clinically and will support you in gaining FCP accreditation and further training through MSc where appropriate- such as injection therapy or non medical prescribing. Every member of staff also receives a comprehensive yearly appraisal to assist in their development.

Undertakefirst contact clinics - working as an independent and autonomous practitioner - based in the GP surgeries in Bracknell and Slough - working alongside the primary care MDT
