Berkshire Healthcare is the provider of mental health and community health services in Berkshire (and for some specialist services outside Berkshire), working in two Integrated Care systems and we are looking for a Service Director for our Mental Health Inpatient Services.

Prospect Park Hospital is a modern mental health PFI hospital, one of the largest in the south of England, based in Reading, with 131 Mental Health beds and 9 Learning Disability beds.

This role will take on the operational responsibility for Prospect Park Hospital and is accountability for the safe and effective running of all adult, PICU and older adult mental health inpatient services.

The Trust is rated Excellent by the CQC, we are a Global Digital Exemplar and our latest staff survey ranks the Trust as one of the best places to work. This is a full-time role which will require a presence at the hospital for most of the working week.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role include:

the delivery of quality services to meet our True North core domains of harm free care, supporting our staff, patient experience and money matters

the performance management of all services in line with local and national performance targets and standards

contribution to corporate strategy, decision making and Trust development

ensuring the hospital environment meets current safety standards and to contribute to the development and improvement of the hospital environment
