What You'll Do:As a Vulnerability Management Technician, you'll take an active role in securing Berkshire Healthcare's digital infrastructure. Your primary mandate will be to identify, assess, and neutralize potential security vulnerabilities. You'll be at the forefront, conducting routine scans, analysing results, and orchestrating patch management efforts. Collaboration will be key as you work hand-in-hand with various teams to swiftly remedy vulnerabilities, ensuring our cybersecurity posture remains robust and aligned with industry standards.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct vulnerability scans across Berkshire Healthcare's IT environment.
  • Analyse information to identify OS/software vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to assess and prioritize risks.
  • Implement remedial actions and assist with OS upgrades.
  • Manage daily workloads and allocate tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and report on vulnerability remediation progress.
  • Manage Service Calls through the Service Management system.
  • Provide support and guidance to IT department colleagues.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions for system problems.
  • Participate in Information Security and Cyber Security audits.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to organizational compliance with security requirements.
  • Research and test new IT products, making upgrade recommendations.
  • Present recommendations for vulnerability management program improvements.
  • Gather intelligence on cyber security threats and evaluate potential effects.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations for vulnerability remediation.
  • Develop and maintain Vulnerability Management processes and procedures.
  • Schedule testing to demonstrate effectiveness of vulnerability management.
  • Develop and maintain Vulnerability Management policy for Berkshire Healthcare.
  • Provide training on vulnerability management to IT/IM&T colleagues and Trust staff.
  • Support the Head of Information Security across all service areas and deputize when required.
